Activ is one of Western Australia's leading community benefit organisations and has been providing services and support to people with disability since 1951. Activ was officially formed by a group of parents who wanted to give their intellectually disabled children a better life. The organisation was originally called the Slow Learning Children's Group. Over the years, the organisation became Activ Foundation and Activ Industries, and its services grew to embrace homes, transport, schools and sheltered workshops.
Now known simply as Activ, the team have modernised their facilities, introduced new occupations and leisure activities and offer a broader range of services to support the whole-of-life needs of an ageing population.
Intrinsic to this modernisation and support is Activ's new website, which is built in Verdi and provides an easy to use interface to the wide range of Activ services and events.
Activ utilises Verdi's multiple site capability, where different sites each with their own unique look and feel and their own URL can be created and easily managed through the single Verdi admin console.
Activ is the organisation behind Perth's annual HBF City To Surf fun run, which inspires over 30,000 participants each year. Information on the City To Surf is provided on a City To Surf micro-site on the Activ website. Click here to open a new window to view the City To Surf micro-site.
Activ also have a micro-site for Activ Dragonfly Week, a fundraising event that aims to highlight the role Activ plays in the provision of employment and care services to people with disability. Click here to open a new window to view the Activ Dragonfly Week micro-site.
E-commerce functionality is included on the Activ site for the online sale of membership and donations. This includes integration with a real time credit card payment gateway.
Here's what Activ say about Verdi and IBC Digital...
"We have been working with IBC for quite some time now with our website being managed through Verdi. We have found their service to be excellent and any requests for changes/additions to the website we have made have always been completed immediately without any issues. In terms of support, IBC have provided us with wonderful customer service and are only too happy to help if we have an issue arise or require assistance.
We are going to be upgrading to the next version of Verdi very soon as we are very happy with the way the website is going and are looking forward to further developing this with IBC.
The website is accessed by a variety of people for a number of fundraising events we manage such as City to Surf, and we thank IBC very much for the ongoing support they have provided us with, especially with regards to these events."
